Day Time Snapper Fishing!
This week at Gale Force Fishing we had an extra fishy bottom bite. Pompano Beach is a great location to target pelagic fish, such as mahi, kingfish, wahoo, and tuna. However, it’s always great to make an extra stop on a couple bottom spots during the day. Our anglers; John, Holly, Abbey, and Drew did a great job maintaining their sea legs in some rough seas. First thing in the morning, we trolled in shallow and caught a nice kingfish! As the trolling bite started to slow down we decided it was time to switch gears and target some bottom dwelling species. Once we were at our first spot, we grabbed our electric reel to fish 300+ feet of water. Before we send down any spinning rods we make sure the fish are biting on the electric. We don’t want to tire our anglers out too early with 300 feet of hand cranking! On the first drop down we caught a nice sized vermillion snapper! For the second drop, we sent down the electric and a spinning rod for John! We caught a couple more vermillion snappers, a yellow eye snapper and a nice sized porgy. After a few drops, the 6 hour trip was coming to a close so we headed in to get the fish cleaned and ready for the dinner plate.
If you’re looking to do some deep sea fishing in the Pompano Beach area give Gale Force Fishing a call and we will be happy to put you on the fish for some Family Fun Fishing! All ages welcome!
